REPORTING FROM THE RAMADA HOTEL IN LIVERPOOL,SYRACUSE, CALEB JARAMILLO, N-C-C News.

Liverpool, N.Y. (DIA) – The 2022 midterm elections kick off today with individuals voting at polling places across the country. The elections consist of races for U.S. House, U.S. Senate, and more positions in other states.

This is considered one of more important election days in recent history as the final results can change the balance of power in Congress. President Biden constantly encourages everyone to go out and vote today as he wants everyone’s voice to be heard.

Voters at the Ramada Hotel in Liverpool were eager to cast their votes.  Andrew Saffioti, 21, is voting to help ensure the right people are in place to lead this country.

“It’s important to vote for who you believe should be in any sort of power pretty much,” said Saffioti.

Saffioti has been voting ever since he was eligible to vote three years ago. He believes this election is the biggest election he’s ever been a part of. He senses the difference between the voting scene now and the voting scene from when he first voted.

“The first time I voted was during COVID,” said Saffioti. “So the only thing that’s really changed are the masks and the COVID protocols.”
