Town of Onondaga Polling Places See a Different Crowd Than in Previous Years

ONONDAGA N.Y (D.I.A): By mid-morning, a handful of voters were lined up at Onondaga Community Colleges Mulroy Hall to exercise their right to vote, one being voter Wendy Arndt. Arndt, like many others, was driven to the polls by democracy. She believes there is more than candidates and a proposition within the ballots this year.
“Right now having a democracy is on the ballots and if we want to continue with that we need to be here to vote” Arndt said.
Just down the road at Onondaga Town Hall, the polls brought a different scene. Poll manager Patricia Marleau noticed something different about voters this election season.
“I think the voters are much better informed this year, they’ve taken the time to look them up, they seem to be very determined in who they are going to vote for” Marleau said.
Marleau also described the crowd of voters as “lighter than previous years” as most of the voting took place through absentee ballots.
We’ll see how far research and determination took the Onondaga County voters this year when polls close and votes are tabulated.
