Syracuse Resident Stresses Importance of Voter Participation

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (DIA) – Pam Januseski, a Syracuse resident, was eager to cast her vote early this morning.
Januseski arrived at Syracuse’s Mundy Branch Library on South Geddes Street around 8:30 a.m. in order to beat the crowds that are expected at polling locations this afternoon.
Januseski wanted to ensure that she arrived early to participate in the midterm elections.
“I want better. I just think it is very important to vote to get who you want in there,” Januseski said. “If you want the right direction, then you have to get out there and vote. You can’t let other people try to lead the way.”
Januseski said she feels strongly about election day and the power that citizens hold in voting. The Onondaga County resident wants to inform her community that participating in election day is crucial to seeing the change you want at both a local and national level.
“You have to. You got all of your important people,” Januseski said. “Your judges, your sheriffs. It is very important to vote right now.”
Local polling locations, such as the Mundy Branch Library, will close at 9 p.m.
