MINOA, N.Y. (DIA) –  Voters filled the small class room  at St. Mary’s Parish Center in Minoa New York. The voices in this classroom are not those of students but rather the voices of voters. Those voices have a lot to say even the timid voices have an opinion to give.

“How do you feel? Coming here and doing this,” said Jim Nagy.  “It’s fun,” said his daughter Grace.”

Jim Nagy brought his three girls with him to the polls and while they may have been soft spoken when asked about how they feel about voting, they’re one of the biggest reasons Jim was out voting today. Jim says being parent of three girls is hard enough; the inflation and high taxes makes it just that much harder.

“Taxes on taxes, you just can’t make it anymore, you know. I can’t go to work because I can’t afford daycare, you know. So my wife works and I take care of the kids,” said Nagy.

So while some are pushing their reason to vote around in a stroller just like the Nagy’s todler. Other voters like James and Emily Buchanan hope that their vote will change their Congress’ representative.

“I’d love to see a democratic representative in Congress from this area especially, so that’s my number one concern right there,” said retired parks representative James Buchanan.

The Buchanan’s hope to see a shift towards blue in Congress. Regardless they hope that everyone votes because they believe this decisions should be made by the ones it impacts.

“Everybody needs to have a choice, you don’t want other people picking out your groceries, picking out your clothes. Why should other people pick out who represents you in Congress,” said retired nurse Emily Buchanan.

Whether it is preparing a better future for your kids, or changing who’s in office. Many faces are coming to many polling sites just like this one to cast their vote.
