SYRACUSE, NY (DIA) – As votes are closing, Onondaga Town Hall voters are making sure to get their voices heard. Many voters believe this election is more important than ever before.
Kathy Weeks believes that the Midterm election is critical in changing the country for the better. “You can’t change anything if you don’t vote,” Weeks says, “I don’t always come to this vote. I always come to the presidential vote. But this time the world just seems to need us, the country anyway.”
At nine in the morning the Onondaga Town Hall voting scene was quite slow, but the total amount of early votes were about 40,000 prior to Tuesday morning. Onondaga County resident, Peter Shiloh consistently votes and understands the importance of one singular ballot.
“I always come first thing in the morning… I just feel think it’s an important part of the whole process. I have never missed an election since I was 18 years old.”
Issues with inflation, safety, transportation, and crime were all considered by voters. The voters are looking for an immediate change with ballots closing at 9pm on Tuesday.
